Colonial Children

These prices are for labor only. All inside seams are sewn on the machine. Any visible seams are hand sewn.  No closures are attached. During the 1700's, stick-pins were widely used for closures however hooks and eyes are included but not sewn on the dress so you can choose.  All items will come unhemmed.

Most colonial children's costumes until they were old enough to be toilet trained looked like this. Usually made of linen or silk. The dress ties in the back. No buttons to hassel with. The dress has a drawstring in the back and front so the dress can grow with the child. Also grow lines/strips that can be added (Are not included)   to make the dress last longer through a growing spirt....  Once the children reach the age of toilet training they are dresses as a "little adult". Basically the same thing the mother/father would be wearing.
