EDWARDIAN DRESSES
LAST UPDATE August 25,2003
The prices are for basic labor only and will vary depending on how elaborate the decoration. You choose your own fabrics! (Or agree to my choices) You choose the boning you want added. The price DOES NOT include closures or heming (As those would need to be hand sewn) To hand sew I charge $20 an hour. :-)

This is one of my favorite Edwardian inspired dresses. I based it on the book "The Cut Of Woman's Clothes" by Norah Waugh. It is a Gibson Girl Blouse and a walking skirt. The blouse has a draw string in the waist to create the look. (If I had made the dress again I would have done lace insertion.) The blouse buttons down the back. The skirt it A line in the front and the back is a gathered A line.

This is one of my favorite Edwardian inspired blouses. I based it on the book "The Cut Of Woman's Clothes" by Norah Waugh. It is a lace insertion Gibson Girl Blouse . The blouse has a draw string in the waist to create the look. The blouse buttons down the back. It looks excellent with a walking or other Edwardian inspired skirt. I have it shown here with 2 different sleeve variation. The back is the same as the above dress.

I think this will be one of my 2 favorite aprons. The pattern is from the Sense and Sensibilty patterns. The self bais tape makes this apron just shine. The 2 pockets make this a perfect apron for EVERYTHING. I like the 2 deep pockets. I can go to my garden and pack my pockets full of produce.
E3 Price: $20 (add $5 for self bais tape)
| The pattern was inspired by a drawing in Janet Arnold's Patterns of
Fashion. The empire costume is slightly fitted through the waist and hips. It can also
open in the front. Great for nursing moms. :-) The material I choose to make the
dress was so thin when I went to iron the hem in I burned it! So as a result the skirt is
a tad bit shorter than it should be. Over 25 buttons are used on this dress. I
especially like the use of buttons on the skirts. It keeps it from flapping up as some
long skirts do. E5 Price: $90 |
| Here is another dress inspired by a Janet Arnold drawing. This
features Kimono sleeves. The top is all one piece. It requires only 3 measurements and
some fitting on the neckline. Very simple and easy pattern. It is very comfortable. The
skirt is gored, and darted. I gathered mine in the back just a little because I like the
extra room. Excuse the cat. He did not like my duck tape double in his way! E6 Price: $80 |
| This outfit is made from the Sensibility Beatrix suit. I ADORE the
skirt and wear it very often. The jacket is somewhat fitted and has slimming lines.
I only wish AL was not summer all the time so I can wear it more! E7 Price: $120 |
| Yet another wonderful outfit from Sensibility patterns. This one I think
is my favorite because it can be turned into a nursing outfit without much trouble. It is
also a very versital patten in that with simple calico it can be a simple day dress or
home dress, but with fancier fabric it can be an elegant tea dress!
E8 Price: $95 |
